Previous Commercial Developments

Compton Developments Limited (under the same common control as Ballard homes)  has been involved in 2 major joint venture commercial projects namely:

• Dunleavy Drive
• Shotwick Park Solar Farm

Dunleavy Drive

Dunleavy Drive was a commercial development project comprising 1,700 square metre for a restaurant, drive thru and retail outlets. It is located off the A4232 in Cardiff Bay and was sold to Henderson Investment Trust. 

Shotwick Park Solar Farm

On the 3rd February 2017 Compton Group were part of a deal to sell Shotwick Solar Park to Foresight Solar Fund Limited

Key facts about the site are:

• The solar park is the largest solar park in the UK with a 72MW (peak) 50MW (export) capacity
• Shotwick was constructed by developers WELink, British Solar Renewables and Compton Group
• It is located on the edge of the Deeside industrial park and has a direct power supply contract with UPM’s Shotton Paper Mill, for up to 100% green energy operation in daylight hours, cutting energy costs and saving 22,500 tonnes of CO2 emissions every year
